Walkthrough

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter a URL

We fetch the rendered HTML, strip nav and boilerplate, and tokenize the body content.

  2. 2

    Review 1, 2, and 3-word density

Single keywords show theme; 2 and 3-grams reveal what phrases you actually rank for.

  3. 3

    Check stuffing warnings

Any single keyword above 4% gets flagged. Modern SEO sweet spot is typically 0.5–2% for the primary keyword.

  4. 4

    Compare to top competitors

Run the tool on the top 3 ranking pages for your target query - you'll see where you under-emphasize key terms.

Why it matters

A small detail that compounds.

Density alone doesn't make you rank, but extreme density gets you penalized. Anything above 4–5% reads as stuffing to both Google and humans.

The real value of a density check is comparison. Check the top 3 competitors for your target query and you'll often see they emphasize related terms you've completely ignored.

With Sight AI

Editorial-grade keyword usage on every article.

Sight AI doesn't pad articles with keyword variations. Our SEO Agent enforces a natural usage curve - primary keyword in the title, H1, intro, and a handful of body sections, with semantic variants throughout. No stuffing, no thin sentences.

Combined with our Research Agent (which mines what top-ranked competitors actually emphasize), every article ships with the right keyword usage from day one.

  • Natural keyword cadence - never stuffed
  • Semantic variants automatically used through the body
  • Topical authority built across linked articles, not single posts
  • Internal links use natural anchor text, not exact-match
FAQ

Common questions.

What's a good keyword density?

For the primary keyword: 0.5–2% in most niches. For supporting keywords: under 1% each. The most important number is the gap between you and the top-ranked page in your SERP.

Does Google still care about keyword density?

Not as a ranking signal directly. But density is a proxy for whether your page is "about" the topic - and Google absolutely measures topical relevance. Density is a useful diagnostic, not a target.

Why does the count exclude common words?

We strip stop words ("the", "and", "of", etc.) so the analysis surfaces meaningful phrases. Otherwise the top result would always be "the".

Does this work on JavaScript-heavy pages?

It works on the rendered HTML returned by the server. If your page only adds content client-side, the density may underreport. Server-render the body for best SEO results overall.
