How long should a title tag be?
50–60 characters or about 580 pixels on desktop. Below 30 you're leaving space; above 60 you risk truncation.
Should I include the year?
For evergreen guides, yes - "(2026)" or "Updated 2026" lifts CTR meaningfully. Refresh the year annually.
Why does Google rewrite my title?
